Stippling is a loose fill characterized by a meandering stitch path.
This technique is similar to free-motion quilting or drawing with thread. Stitches are typically executed in a random or seamlessly repeating pattern to produce a light, airy texture. Stippling is effective for adding depth and dimension to embroidery designs and is particularly popular for creating fabric textures, decorative borders, or background fills in large areas.
In Studio NEXT, stippling fills are generated using the Mesh Tool through specific modes such as Net > Fractal, Stippling, and Tiles > Blackwork. These mesh modes facilitate the creation of various stippling patterns featuring single or multiple stitch layers. Furthermore, the stippling path can be converted into outline objects, allowing for further decoration with outline samples or other advanced outline techniques available within Studio.
