This tool is accessible via Main Menu > Transform > Align Objects.
Object alignment is the process of positioning two or more objects relative to each other.
Alignment functions are available when two or more objects are selected in the Work Area or the Object Inspector. Alignment is performed relative to the object that was selected first (the "anchor").
Three horizontal controls allow you to align selected objects to the left edge, the horizontal center, or the right edge of the collective selection.
Three vertical controls allow you to align selected objects to the top edge, the vertical center, or the bottom edge of the collective selection.
An instant preview of the resulting alignment is displayed in the Layout panel and within the Work Area.
Three objects are selected in the Work Area. The object labeled with number 1 represents the first selection.
A preview of alignment to the upper edge. The alignment is calculated based on the position of object 1.
The vector objects from the example above are now aligned precisely to the upper edge of the first selected object.
