Commands in this menu allow users to select vector objects based on various criteria or to modify current selections.
The Scroll and Zoom In on Selected command centers the selected object(s) on the screen and adjusts the zoom level to fit the selection to the viewing area. This tool is useful for locating objects selected in the Inspector window within the work area.
The Zoom In and Edit Selected Objects command functions similarly to the above, but it also automatically initiates nodes editing mode.
The Invert Selection command deselects the currently selected objects and selects all remaining objects in the design. This is useful when you need to modify the majority of objects while keeping a few specific ones unchanged. To do this, select the objects to remain untouched and then use the Invert Selection command.
The New Selection, Add to Selection, and Select Subset options define how vector objects are handled when using other commands in this menu. These function as toggles, and only one may be active at a time. They determine whether a command creates a fresh selection, adds objects to the current selection, or filters the current selection to include only specific subsets.
Example 1 - Selecting all fills and outlines:
Example 2 - Limited Selection within a subset:
Other commands in this menu facilitate the selection of multiple objects of a specific type, such as Manual Stitches, backward paths, or Motif Fills. Their behavior depends on the selection mode (New, Add, or Subset) currently enabled.
The text selection commands remain functional only as long as the reference to the corresponding text label is maintained. If the reference is removed using the Main Menu > Text > Convert Text to Normal Objects item, the object becomes a standard vector object. At that point, it can no longer be identified or selected via the Select > Text commands.
