Embird Embroidery Software Tutorial

This tutorial explains how insert chosen color emoji as background image, which might be enlarged and converted to stitches with a few clicks as shown below.

Note: This new feature is enabled for all users who have registration of Font Engine Plug-in. For others it works in demo mode, allowing to choose only from 3 emojis.

Note: Emojis are suported only in Windows 10 and Windows 11. Also, they differ between these two Windows versions. Find more information here.

1 - Run Embird and click "Editor" menu to switch to Editor window.

2 - Select "Insert > Emoji" menu (Picture No. 1).

3 - A dialog with Emojis will appear (Picture No. 2). Double-click some Emoji and select "OK" button.

4 - Background image in inserted into in Editor (Picture No. 3). Enlarge the Emoji (1) first and then convert the whole background image to stitches (2).

5 - It is possible to convert the image and obtain color design, or monotone one. Choose "Color" option (Picture No. 4).

6 - It is possible to convert also the background color (white) to stitches, or consider it as transparent (Picture No. 5).

7 - Various fill options are available (Picture No. 6). Find more in Quilt Fill, Fractal Fill and Mesh Fill tutorials.

8 - Specify "0 mm" to both "Offset" and "Bounce" settings. (These settings allow to inflate/shrink recognized curves, which are going to be filled with chosen fill. Offset is for outside area boundary, and bounce for inside cavities.)

9 - Select fill pattern (Picture No. 8).

10 - Select "Image > None" menu to remove the background image (Picture No. 9).

11 - Check the result and save it to file using "File > Save As" menu (Picture No. 10).

12 - It is possible to insert the Emoji as Celtic Knots design. Select "Insert > Emoji" menu, choose Emoji and select "Insert as Celtic Knots emoji" button (Picture No. 11).

13 - A dialog "Insert Celtic Knots Emojit" will appear (Picture No. 12). Specify the size and watch the estimated size of pattern being inserted. Modify knots settings (type, distance, width, etc.). Try various fill types - there are 80+ available. It is possible to apply Transformation ("Scale", "Fish Eye", "Skew", "3D"). Change some parameter and after a short while watch the Preview box to see how it affects the final result.

14 - Check the result and save it to file using "File > Save As" menu (Picture No. 10).
