This is a sub-chapter of the Mesh Parameters chapter.
This page describes the Glyphs parameters within the Mesh tool of Embird Studio NEXT, a software for computerized machine embroidery. It explains how to generate mesh fills using characters from either fonts or a built-in library. Users can control the average size of the glyph cells, the amount of random rotation applied to the glyphs, and the threshold for differentiating between small and large cells, allowing for the use of different glyphs based on cell size. Additional parameters include scaling the glyphs within their cells and adding a circular outline. The settings are organized into tabs for general options and separate controls for large and small glyphs, offering flexibility in creating unique and decorative mesh patterns.
Average Cell Size. The actual size of glyph cells varies above and below this value.
Glyph Rotation Range - the range within which the glyphs are randomly rotated to create a more intricate mesh.
Small Cells Amount. Glyph cells are generated in various sizes. Small ones can be filled with different glyphs than the large ones. This control defines the margin between small and large cells.
Font glyphs mesh
Span defines the extent of the fill with respect to object contours. Possible values are Overflow, Cropped, and Interior. In the case of Overflow fill, you may want to exclude object contours from the mesh. This can be done in the Common Settings tab.
Kind. Choose between Font (letters, dingbat, or clipart) glyphs and glyphs from the Library mode.
Scale - this control allows you to size down the glyphs within their cells.
Add Circle - if switched ON, a circle outline is added to each glyph cell.
Font - if Font mode is chosen, this control allows you to browse and select a font. Also, Bold and Italic switches are available to modify the font if it supports such options.
Text - if Font mode is chosen, this control allows you to type in the glyphs.
Glyphs from Library - if Library mode is chosen, this control allows you to select one or multiple predefined glyphs.
