Folder Navigation
Bread Crumbs Control
Bread Crumbs is a navigation control for folders used in various areas of Embird Next to select a required file folder. It allows you to select storage and browse through the folder structure.
This control displays the folder path from the root of the volume (drive) to the current folder. The path consists of separate elements called bread crumbs. Each crumb acts as a button, allowing for fast browsing and various folder operations.
The following diagram illustrates the layout of this control.
1
Button for accessing the Pop-Up Menu with
Folder Commands.
Clicking this button invokes the pop-up menu for common folder operations.
Please read the
Pop-Up Menu chapter to learn more about pop-up menus.
If a separate folder list is used alongside the bread crumbs control, the pop-up menu button may reside in the folder list.
2
Repository.
This button invokes a list of accessible built-in, external, and cloud drives (volumes), as well as common storage locations such as the Downloads folder, Pictures folder, etc.
Use this list to select the storage location for navigation.
3
Root. This button represents the root folder of the location.
4
Path Separator.
These buttons separate the respective folders in the path. Click a separator button to display a list of sub-folders belonging to the parent folder.
Select a sub-folder from this list to navigate deeper into the folder structure. The selected sub-folder then becomes the last part of the path (the current folder).
This is how the folder path (bread crumbs) is built. If a folder has no sub-folders, no Path Separator button will appear after that folder button.
5
Folder. Each folder in the path is represented by a button containing the folder name. Click a folder button to navigate up to that specific folder. The clicked folder then becomes the current folder.
6
Current Folder. The current folder is the final element in the path. Clicking the Current Folder button invokes a menu with commands for deleting, renaming, adding the folder to favourites, or adding a new sub-folder.
