Open Unsaved Feature

Embird Embroidery Software Tutorial

The Open Unsaved feature in Embird 2026 (Editor and Cross Stitch plug-in) is an automatic safety net. It lets you quickly recover your embroidery designs if the software crashes or shuts down before you can save. Here is how to set it up and use it.

How to Turn On Backups

1 - Run Embird and click the "Editor" menu to switch to the Editor window.

2 - Click on "Options" in the top menu.

3 - Check "Back-up Unsaved Files" menu to make sure it is turned ON. (Picture No. 1).

How to Recover Your Work

4 - If you lose your progress, you can bring your design back using menu "File > Open Unsaved > ... " (Picture No. 2).

2. Use "File > Open Unsaved" menu to recover

5 - Double-click the design to recall it (Picture No. 3).
