Note: Registration of Font Engine Plug-in is required. Otherwise it works in demo mode, allowing to choose only from 3 characters.
This tutorial explains how to insert Simple Outline Text into the Editor. There are 10 fixed fonts available and another one, "current," which is based on a chosen TrueType/OpenType font.
1 - Run Embird and click the "Editor" menu to switch to the Editor window.
2 - Select the "Insert > Simple Outline Text" menu (Picture No. 1).

3 - A dialog box with outline fonts will appear (Picture No. 2). Double-click the font list to change the "current" font.

4 - Select the font and choose its style. The size setting is not used here (Picture No. 3).

6 - Check the result and save it to a file using the "File > Save As" menu (Picture No. 5).

7 - Starting with Embird 2026, it is possible to insert multi-line text. Individual lines are separated by "pipe" character (Picture No. 6). It is possible to specify alignment and additional spacing between lines.

8 - The additional spacing between lines can even be negative, to achieve overlapping TrueType/OpenType text. (Picture No. 7).

10 - It is possible to add shadows to inserted text (Picture No. 9). There are several parameters available that allow you to change the size of the shadows, their number, and their direction. Try changing them and see the preview that appears after a short while.

11 - Cut the inserted characters horizontally or vertically. Specify the cut location left/right (top/bottom) and the space after cutting. (Picture No. 10).

12 - Cut each character vertically and move them apart by the prescribed distance (Picture No. 11).

13 - Turn on random jitter of individual characters (Picture No. 12). Enter the minimum and maximum angles and different shake modes. Try changing these parameters and a preview will appear after a short while.

14 - Add Filling effect (Picture No. 13). There are many patterns available, including maze, plants, hatching, etc.

17 - A negative value for the additional space parameter allows you to create overlapping text (Picture No. 16).
