This tutorial explains how to sort colors in selected objects to obtain fewer thread changes. The Smart Color Sort feature allows you to group the same (or similar) colors without changing the appearance of the design sewout.

1 - Run the Embird program.

2 - Select the "Embird" menu to switch to the Editor.

3 - Select the "File > Open" menu to open an existing design (Picture No. 1).

4 - Select the "Edit > Corner" menu to duplicate the selected object and place it into all four corners of the hoop (Picture No. 2).

5 - Choose the way of placing objects into the corners (Picture No. 3).

6 - The selected object was duplicated and placed into all corners of the hoop (Picture No. 4). Now there are 4 objects containing the same 3 colors. Smart color sorting allows you to group the same colors to decrease the number of thread changes in the final design containing these 4 objects.

7 - Select the "Edit > Select > Select All" menu to select all objects on the work area (Picture No. 5).

8 - All objects on the work area are selected - a black rectangle is drawn around each object icon at the right side of the screen (Picture No. 6).

9 - Select the "Edit > Colors > Smart Color Sort" menu to group colors (Picture No. 7).

10 - It is possible to specify the maximal difference of color R, G, B components for grouping similar (but not identical) colors (Picture No. 8). Specify "0" to group only exactly the same colors, or a larger number to group slightly different colors as well.
