Embird Clip Image

Embird Embroidery Software Tutorial

Clip Image is a simple program that works with the Clipboard. It allows you to quickly prepare images with explanatory arrows and numbers—like those used in this tutorial. This is great for illustrating a problem you might have with software, preparing tutorials, or providing support via email. Also, in Clip Image, you can manually assign several frequently used links to Internet web pages and access them quickly when necessary—for example, if you are composing an email with references to web pages.

1 - Make a snapshot of the screen you want to work with. Press the Print Screen (Prt Sc) button on your keyboard to copy the contents of the whole screen to the Clipboard. In this example, we are going to work with the screen of the Embird Manager window (Picture No. 1).

Note: If you press only the Print Screen key, the contents of the whole screen are copied to the Clipboard. If you press the Alt and Print Screen keys simultaneously, then only the contents of the active window (i.e., the one with the blue bar at its top) are copied to the Clipboard.

1. Capture screen and put it to Clipboard

2 - Launch Embird Clip Image by selecting the menu "Start > Programs > Embird > Embird Clip Image" or use the desktop shortcut (Picture No. 2).

Note: The Options menu in the Clip Image program contains settings that allow you to enable the automatic launching of Clip Image on Windows startup. Then, the Clip Image icon is shown in the Tray (bottom right corner of the screen) and it is always at hand (see Picture No. 9 below). Set the other option, "Do minimize to tray when closing" to ON if you want to have this program always running, even if you accidentally click its Close icon.

2. Launch Clip Image application

3 - The Clip Image window will appear on the screen (Picture No. 3).

4 - Click the Paste button (red arrow in Picture No. 3) to paste the Clipboard contents into the work area of the Clip Image application.

3. Paste contents of Clipboard to Clip Image work area

5 - The captured screen of Embird Manager is now displayed in the work area (Picture No. 4).

6 - Move the mouse pointer to a point and depress the left mouse button (arrow 1 in Picture No. 4).

7 - Move the pointer to another point while holding down the left mouse button (arrow 2 in Picture No. 4).

8 - Release the left mouse button. This will create a selection rectangle with corners at points 1 and 2.

4. Select region to be cropped

9 - Click the Crop button to crop the selection (arrow 3 in Picture No. 5). It is possible to crop the selection, add a frame around the selection, or fill the selection with a solid color —see buttons 13 and 14 below in Picture No. 7.

10 - It is possible to add an arrow—double-click the point in the work area where the arrow should be added. The arrow direction and color are determined by settings 16 and 18, respectively (see Picture No. 7 below).

11 - It is possible to add a number—right-click the point in the work area where the number should be added. The number and its color are determined by settings 21 and 18, respectively (see Picture No. 7 below).

5. Crop the selection

12 - The selection was cropped out (Picture No. 6).

6. Cropped selection

14 - Suppose you want to send this image via email. The Clip Image application always keeps in the Clipboard the path to the temporary image which contains the current contents of the work area (see path 22 in Picture No. 7). Therefore, if you now run your email client application and start composing a new email, just click the Attach button and paste (by depressing the CTRL and V keys simultaneously) the path into the "File name:" box (Picture No. 8). This allows you to quickly create emails with an image attachment, without the need to manually browse through folders and files on your hard disk.

8. Attach image to email easily

15 - Another feature of Clip Image is that it can keep frequently used links and allows you to quickly access them. Right-click the Clip Image icon in the Tray for a popup menu containing links (Picture No. 9). Select a menu with a link, and it will be copied to the Clipboard.

Note: You must manually add your links first. Select an internet browser and open the web page whose link you want to add. Then copy its link to the Clipboard (by selecting the link in the Address box and depressing the CTRL and C keys simultaneously). Finally, right-click the Clip Image icon in the Tray and select the Add Link menu.

Tip 1: To delete a link from the Clip Image popup menu, please hold down the CTRL key while choosing the link in the popup menu.

Tip 2: If you hold down the SHIFT key while choosing a link in the Clip Image popup menu, the link will be copied into the Clipboard and the internet browser will be automatically launched with this link.

9. Right click Clip Image icon in the tray to display popup menu, then select link

16 - Once you have the link in the Clipboard, launch your internet browser and paste the link (by depressing the CTRL and V keys simultaneously) (Picture No. 10).

10. Paste link to browser to use it
