Embird Embroidery Software Tutorial

This tutorial explains how to activate your copy of Embird.

It explains how to activate Embird via e-mail, in case the normal online activation process fails.

Embird uses software-based product activation technology. Therefore, after purchasing and inserting the registration password into Embird, you must also activate your copy of Embird software to use it. Embird activation reduces a form of software piracy known as "casual copying".

Casual copying is the sharing and installation of software that is not in accordance with the Embird software's end-user license agreement (EULA). The EULA specifies that it is allowed to use registered Embird software and its plug-ins on a single computer, and it may be transferred to another computer as long as the other computer is owned by the same person and as long as it is used on only one computer at a time.

Embird activation ensures that each Embird software license is used in accordance with the EULA and is not simultaneously used on several computers. Embird creates a unique installation identification (ID) that is based on information from the registration password and a hardware identifier created when you install Embird software. The installation ID records an association of the Embird registration password to your computer, and a confirmation is sent back to BALARAD s.r.o., the company that owns the copyrights and develops Embird software and its plug-ins.

1 - Run Embird.

2 - If the registration password was successfully inserted into Embird, a dialog box with information about activation will appear on the screen. Select the "Activate Embird Software" button (Picture No. 1).

3 -  The activation process will start. Wait until this process is finished, OR click the "Cancel" button if you want to activate via e-mail (1 in Picture No. 2).

4 - Click the "Yes" button to confirm that you want to abort the online activation process (2 in Picture No. 2).

5 - Click the "No" button to confirm that you want to activate Embird via e-mail (Picture No. 3).

6 - Click the "Copy to Clipboard" button to copy the activation link to the clipboard (Picture No. 4).

7 - Launch your e-mail client application, compose a new e-mail message to the recipient embird@embird.net, and paste the clipboard contents into the message by pressing the CTRL and V keys on your keyboard simultaneously.

8 - Send the e-mail and wait for the reply with the activation code. This could take several hours due to manual processing.

9 - Insert this code into the box shown in Picture No. 4 and click the "Activate Embird Software" button to activate your copy of Embird.
