The Flatten Composite Glyphs option ensures the correct processing of rare TrueType and OpenType fonts constructed from overlapping or "piled-up" blocks rather than standard continuous contours.
Left: Glyphs constructed from overlapping blocks. Right: Glyphs flattened into single contours.
While fonts constructed from blocks are relatively uncommon, flattening is a necessary step when converting these specific styles into embroidery to ensure proper stitch generation.
Note: Avoid using the flattening feature on standard (non-composite) fonts, as it will eliminate internal openings within the glyphs.
