This tutorial explains how to set Embird as default program for opening chosen file type (extension) in Windows 10.
Normally, it should not be necessary to make any changes in Windows this way - you should just switch ON the Iconizer plug-in as explained in Iconizer Plug-in tutorial. However, it might solve the problem of opening designs in Embird and showing Iconizer icons if there are more programs capable of handling specific file type.
1 - Run Windows Explorer by pressing "Windows" key and "E" key simultaneously.
2 - Browse to some folder containing files with extension which you want to open in Embird, e.g. ".dst" extension.
3 - Right click some of these files and select "Open with" or "Open > Choose another app" from popup menu (Picture No. 1).
1. Choose "Open with" command
4 - Select "Embird Embroidery Software" and switch ON the setting "Always use this app to open .dst files" (Picture No. 2).
5 - Click "OK" button to confirm new setting.
2. Select "Embird Embroidery Software" app
