Right Panel Menu (Manager)

See also Options Menu

Use Right Panel to process hard disk, CD-ROM, network and standard floppy disk files. Use Left Panel if you want to process non-standard floppy disks. Drive and Folder boxes allow you to select drive and folder with your designs. Unless you choose mask in Filter box, all embroidery files present in chosen folder will be listed in Files box.

Files can be selected by depressing left mouse button and moving mouse cursor over filenames. Selected (non-condensed) files can be seen individually or as thumbnails. Selected files can also be printed, exported into .BMP or .JPG file, converted to other format, copied to floppy disk or edited in Editor. Selection of these functions is made by choosing corresponding command in Right Panel Menu or in Popup Menu. Popup menu is displayed when clicking on Files box with right mouse button. Double clicking with left mouse button on file causes its preview. Right Panel can be hidden to enlarge preview area.

Tip: Hold left mouse button down and drag mouse cursor over files in file list box if you want to select multiple files. Another way is to depress CTRL key and click left mouse button on files.

Right Panel Menu and Popup Menu Commands:

Folder Operations

Commands contained in this sub-menu will process all files in selected folder and all its sub-folders. All commands are explained below. Use these commands if you want to process whole folders (not only selected files in current folder).

Image Operations

This submenu contains four commands: Rotate Images, Resize Images, Convert Images and Image Information. Use these commands to process the selected image files in Files box. These commands allow batch processing of selected image files.

Create New Folder

Create a new folder on hard disk.

Delete Folder

Delete selected folder.

Select Files

Show dialog box and files may be selected from the list. This command is useful if you have hidden Right Panel and you need to select some of hard disk files.

Select All Files

Select all designs stored in current folder on hard disk.

Select Marked Files

If you are displaying files as thumbnails or as dense thumbnails, there is a check box shown at the left side of each thumbnail (in its yellow area). Use this check box to mark some of the files while browsing through your designs, and then use Select Marked Files command to select marked files in Files box. Finally, use e.g. Delete Files command to delete the selected (marked) files from your hard disk, or use any other command applicable for selected files. Note: If you depress SHIFT key while clicking on the mark check box, the ON/OFF status of this check box will be aplied to all check boxes on current thumbnail page.

Preview

If ON, a small preview image of selected file is displayed under the Files box.

Preview Files

This option is available only for users of registered Iconizer plug-in. If ON, the design icons are shown in Files box. (See also Iconizer Settings command in Options Menu.)

Open In Viewer

Open selected file (design or image) in Viewer.

View File

View selected design on Middle Panel. Placing mouse cursor on preview area shows hint with file information - design name, stitch count, size, start needle etc.

View File Full Screen

View file full screen, using the whole area of display.

View Color Layers

View color layers of selected design.

View Thread List

View selected design and complete documentation about threads used, including consumption, thread name and catalog identification number.

View Thumbnails

View selected designs as thumbnails, 12 designs per page.

View Dense Thumbnails

View selected designs as dense thumbnails, 35 designs per page.

View Very Dense Thumbnails

View selected designs as very dense thumbnails, 104 designs per page.

View Custom Thumbnails

View selected designs as thumbnails, allowing to specify the number of rows and columns per page.

Print Template

Print template containing a single design in 1:1 scale and the corresponding hoop. In case the design is too big to fit a page, it will print on multiple papers.

Print Floating Template

Print template containing a single design in 1:1 scale with corresponding hoop in the background anywhere on the paper. In case the design is too big to fit a page, it will print on multiple papers.

Print Floating Design

Print a single design in 1:1 scale anywhere on the paper.

Print Design Snapshot

Print a single design; 1 design per page.

Print Detail Documentation

Print a single design, with complete running information, including thread consumption, running sequence and histogram, with the stitch number where color change is to take place. Page Title box allows entering of one line of text, which appears on top of each printed page. Documentation may be completed with logo and address of owner. File LOGO.BMP with picture of logo and text file ADDRESS.TXT containing address of owner and other information must be stored in the same folder as the EMBIRD.EXE file (usually C:\Program Files\EMBIRD32 folder or C:\EMBIRD32 folder). Files LOGO.BMP and ADDRESS.TXT are created by owner, they will not be present in C:\Program Files\EMBIRD32 folder after installation of Embird software. (See also Edit Logo and Address command in Options Menu.)

Print Color Layers

Print a single design with complete documentation about color layers, including thread name and stitch count per color.

Print Thread List

Print a single design with complete documentation about used threads, including thread name and catalog identification number.

Print Thumbnails

Print thumbnails type of documentation, 12 designs per page. Includes file name, stitch count and size information. Page Title box allows entering of one line of text that appears on top of each printed page.

Print Dense Thumbnails

Print thumbnails type of documentation, 35 designs per page.

Print Very Dense Thumbnails

Print thumbnails type of documentation, 104 designs per page.

Print Custom Thumbnails

Print thumbnails type of documentation, allowing to specify the number of rows and columns per page.

Export Design Snapshot

Same as Print Design Snapshot command, but output goes to chosen .BMP or .JPG file on hard disk.

Export Image

Save small image of selected design to chosen .BMP or .JPG file on hard disk. Height or width of image can be chosen. This documentation is suitable for creating pictures of your designs for your web site.

Export Animated Image

Save animated image of selected design to chosen .GIF file on hard disk. Width and height of image can be chosen, as well as stitch cadence and delay between images. This documentation is suitable for creating advertising pictures of your designs for your web site.

Export Icons

Use this command to create tiny icons of your designs for use e.g. as buttons or indicators for your web site.

Export Simple Documentation

Save simple documentation with small image of selected design and colors information to chosen .BMP or .JPG file on hard disk. As created files are of small size, they may be used as attachment of e-mail.

Export Medium Documentation

Save documentation with size and stitch count information, including small image of selected design and colors order, to chosen .BMP or .JPG file on hard disk. As created files are of small size, they may be used as an e-mail attachment.

Export Detail Documentation

Same as Print Detail Documentation command, but output goes to chosen .BMP or .JPG file on hard disk.

Export Color Layers

Same as Print Color Layers command, but output goes to chosen .BMP or .JPG file on hard disk.

Export Thread List

Same as Print Thread List command, but output goes to chosen .BMP or .JPG file on hard disk.

Export Thumbnails

Same as Print Thumbnails command, but output goes to chosen .BMP or .JPG file on hard disk.

Export Dense Thumbnails

Same as Print Dense Thumbnails command, but output goes to chosen .BMP or .JPG file on hard disk.

Export Very Dense Thumbnails

Same as Print Very Dense Thumbnails command, but output goes to chosen .BMP or .JPG file on hard disk.

Export Custom Thumbnails

Same as Print Custom Thumbnails command, but output goes to chosen .BMP or .JPG file on hard disk.

Export dBase Documentation

Use this command to create dBase (.DBF) database file containing records with information about design full path, size, stitch count, number of colors, thread changes, hoop size and design icon.

Export Excel Documentation

Use this command to create Microsoft® Excel (.XLS) document containing design full path, size, stitch count, number of colors, thread changes and hoop size information. This command requires Microsoft® Excel installed.

Export Word Documentation

Use this command to create Microsoft® Word (.DOC) document containing table with design icon, full path, size and stitch count information. This command requires Microsoft® Word installed.

Export Screen Saver

Use this command to export the screen saver file (.SCR) which displays the simulation of sewing of selected designs when the computer is idle.

Export Printable Documentation

Use this command to export selected design attached to the routine, which is capable of printing the design. This will create a new executable (.EXE) file on hard disk, which may be sent in e-mail to customer who can print the design documentation on his/her computer.

Export Sew Simulator

Use this command to export selected design attached to the sew simulator. This will create a new executable (.EXE) file on hard disk, which may be sent in e-mail to customer who can check the simulation of design sewing.

Copy Files to Floppy Disk

Copy selected hard disk files to floppy disk in specified format. You do not need to convert the files to target file format before copying - this will be done automatically.

USB Stick

Use this command to read/write designs to/from universal memory stick. The target file format can be chosen in the dialog box will appear on the screen when you are reading/writing designs from/to the stick. It is possible to use this command also for writing designs to standard floppy disk - its drive letter is included in the list of available drives.

Barudan CF Card

Use this command to read/write designs to/from CF Card for Barudan embroidery machines.

Bernina Artista Medium

Use this command to read/write designs to/from medium for Bernina Artista and Deco embroidery machines.

Brother Innovis Memory Card

Use this command to read/write designs to/from memory card for Brother Innovis embroidery machines.

Husqvarna Viking USB Emb. Stick

Use this command to read/write designs to/from memory stick for Viking Husqvarna embroidery machines.

Janome JEF CompactFlash Card

Use this command to read/write designs to/from CompactFlash Card for Janome embroidery machines.

Output to Elna EMD Smart Media

Use this command to write designs to EMD Smart Media Card for Elna Xquisite embroidery machines.

Output to Singer EMD Smart Media

Use this command to write designs to EMD Smart Media Card for Singer XL 5000/6000 embroidery machines.

Port Connection to E. Machine

This command allows to upload/download designs to/from Barudan embroidery machine via serial communication cable.

Send to 3rd Party Application

This command is intended for 3rd party software developers of plug-ins for Embird. Embird will convert the selected files in Files box to interchangeable format and then launch the 3rd party application .EXE file specified in Options - Plug-in Paths menu. Embird will pass a full path to a text file on the command line to the 3rd party application. This text file contains full paths to designs stored in interchangeable format. The 3rd party application should process the designs and when it is finished, it should delete the text file to let Embird know about its completion.

Create Designer 1 Floppy Disk

Use this command to write selected designs to blank formatted floppy disk. This will automatically convert the designs to .SHV format and create all folders and files required be Designer 1 embroidery machine. Before you start using floppy disks written in Embird with Designer 1 machine, make sure that the machine has the latest firmware. Create Designer 1 USB Medium

Use this command to read/write designs to/from USB medium for Viking Designer 1 embroidery machine. Before you start using USB media written in Embird with Designer 1 machine, make sure that the machine has the latest firmware. If not, download and install the update from http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us/3190_6597.htm

Convert Files

Convert selected hard disk files to chosen target file format. New files are stored in the same folder as the source files. Filenames of new files are derived from names of source files automatically.

Internet > Send Files in E-mail

Use this command to send the selected files from Files box at right panel in attachment of e-mail.

Cut Files to Clipboard

Cut selected files and put them to clipboard.

Copy Files to Clipboard

Copy selected files to clipboard.

Paste Files from Clipboard

Paste files from clipboard.

Paste Shortcuts to Files in Clipboard

Paste shortcuts to files in clipboard. This will create shortcut files (.LNK) in chosen folder to files in clipboard.

Delete Files

Delete selected files.

Rename File

Rename selected file.

File Summary Info

Edit summary information of file, i.e. Title, Subject, Author, Category, Keywords, Revision Number and Comments. This feature is only available on volumes formatted with NTFS.

Resample File

Resize, rotate, mirror and center selected file.

Change Needle Assignment

Change assignment of needles in selected file. Also allows adding of trimming codes.

Open File in External Application

Open selected design in external application, which is associated with extension of selected design. See also Associate Extensions command in Options menu.

Add to Zip

Add selected files to ZIP archive. This command will display a dialog box, in which the filename of archive can be specified.
Note: If you are adding a file into an existing archive, and a file with the same filename already exists in the archive, this file will be replaced with the file being added without warning.

Extract Zipped Files to

Extract selected ZIP archives to chosen folder. It is possible to extract multiple ZIP archives into a single target folder at once.

Edit Files

Edit selected files in Embird Editor. (See also Editor Menu.)
